Back in 2020 when I made the firm decision to make hijrah, Morocco was always the top choice. However, to be fair, I did research other countries like Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Gambia. Unfortunately they didn't meet all the criteria I needed. So I consistently found myself drawn back to Morocco. This country just seems to check all the boxes for what I am seeking in a hijrah destination. In this blog post, I will delve into the top six reasons why I chose Morocco as my hijrah destination.
A Lifelong Dream
When I was just 12, my father's best friend moved to Morocco and sent us a postcard from Marrakech. It featured a captivating photo of Jma Fna Square, the famous outdoor marketplace. From the moment I saw it, I was mesmerized. I spent countless hours admiring that postcard and dreaming of the day I could visit this beautiful place. That dream has stayed with me ever since, and now, within a few short months it will become a reality insha Allah.

Beautiful and Diverse Landscapes
Morocco boasts an incredible variety of landscapes, from the vast deserts of the Sahara to the snowy peaks of Ifrane. Whether you prefer beaches, waterfalls, forests, mountains, or deserts, Morocco has it all. As someone who loves nature and feels a deep connection to Allah when surrounded by it, Morocco's natural beauty made it an obvious choice for me. Additionally, the country offers modern cities with all the amenities you'd expect, so you can enjoy both nature and urban life.

Historical Architecture
Morocco is home to some of the world's oldest and most breathtaking architectural structures. The ancient kasbahs (old fortresses) and the historic medinas (old towns) make you feel as if you've stepped back in time. Nearly every city in Morocco has a medina, offering a glimpse into the country's rich history and culture.

Affordability
For someone coming from a Western country like the United States, Morocco is remarkably affordable. You can rent an apartment for as little as $400 a month and enjoy a full meal for less than $5. Regardless of your budget, you can live comfortably and enjoyably in Morocco.
Tangier
Easy Visas
For most Western nationals, entry into Morocco doesn't require a visa. Additionally, obtaining a residency visa is easier than in many other Muslim countries, reducing the stress of settling down and making the transition smoother.

Path to Citizenship
One of the most attractive aspects of Morocco is the ability to obtain citizenship. After living in Morocco for five years with a residency visa, you can apply for a Moroccan passport. My goal is to become a citizen of a Muslim country, and Morocco's welcoming path to citizenship makes it an ideal choice for me.
